Kesha Ajose-Fisher’s debut collection, No God Like the Mother just won the 2020 Ken Kesey award in fiction through the Oregon Book Awards. It is about the lives of nine African women and girls as they move through the world bearing the weight of their ordeals. Much of her work is guided by her nomadic childhood in Africa and America. She currently lives in Portland with her family, and is working on her upcoming novel while advocating for the most vulnerable among us.
